Accessible solely by boat and air, Martha’s Vineyard has been a storied summer colony and home to some of the country’s wealthiest, bold-faced names throughout history. But it’s also a natural beauty, unique to the cluster of islands off of the Cape Cod Peninsula including Nantucket, Naushon and Nashawena and Chappaquiddick. Its miles of shoreline famous beaches including Moshup and Menemsha, sheltered coves and parklands including Aquinnah Cliffs and Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge on Chappaquidick, offer the best of New England’s wild natural resources. The cabin backs onto the Long Point Wildlife Refuge, and the Correllus State Forest is a just a few miles north.
Due to it’s size, the island is perfect for biking distances and can be traversed by car in under an hour. Oak Bluffs with the famous, historic Flying Horses carousel is within a half hour and the area is home to quaint villages, seafood shacks, lighthouses, and historic estates and cottages.
