A lush and romantic residence that celebrates the classicism of the island’s past, this luxury villa in Gallipoli is located at the very heart of the historic Old Town.

Built in the 18th century, it was once a nobleman’s palazzo and its lavish proportions, elaborate frescoes, and decorative features have been translated with an eclectic touch and an eye for detail that respects its heritage.

Creating environments that are warm, intimate and familiar, the villa feels deeply personal with the unique furnishings and decor serving only to enhance its character.

Divided into different zones, the sitting rooms and dining room are located on the ground floor with an intimate lounge area that has direct access to a private baroque garden and dining terrace. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with optional breakfast and meals on offer, and six en suite bedrooms, each with a private balcony overlooking the streets and gardens, with accommodations for up to twelve guests.

The villa offers the laid-back atmosphere of a B&B, combined with the privacy and services you’d find at a great hotel.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Optional concierge services. Wifi throughout, satellite cable TV, three hours of housekeeping daily with Linen change every three days. Kitchen and bath essentials, minibar. Off-site public parking available. Optional spa and massage treatments available.

AROUND

Once an ancient and strategic ruling city and port over two thousand years ago, Gallipoli has seen Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Spaniards and Barbarians come and go, leaving behind layers of history and culture within its fortified walls. The solid limestone island is connected by a bridge to the mainland and the well-preserved bastions, towers and fortifications add to the atmospheric charms of the city.

Dominated by the central Castello Angioino, a fairy-tale medieval castle, and the cathedral, the island’s narrow streets and secret alleyways feature noble residences and palazzos and dozens of amazing restaurants, bars, fun local shops and art galleries. Don’t miss the renowned fish market.

You will be within walking distance to the Riviera Nazario Sauro beach from where you can enjoy the warm Mediterranean and marvel at the beauty of the city’s ancient history.

The Salento Peninsula region lies at the midpoint of Italy’s heel between both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas with lovely beaches on either side.

The port town of Brindisi (and final stop along the famed Appian Way) lies an hour northeast while the stunning Baroque city of Lecce, known as the Florence of the South, is within forty minutes. The lovely UNESCO port town of Otranto is a forty-minute drive and the White City of Ostuni is ninety minutes north.
