Designed by south shore based Peripherie Design Studios, this cabin rental in Lake Tahoe is a modern take on the alpine mountain chalet.
Located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe’s Al Tahoe neighborhood, the cabin is within a short walk to the lake, the glittering city restaurants and casinos, and nearby conservation land.
The main floor includes a lounge and dining area with fireplace off of the fully equipped kitchen in bold black lacquer that plays off of the warmth of the wood.
There is a sunny master bedroom with an ensuite steam room/bathroom and a private lounge and access to the rock gardens at one end, with a loft bedroom at the apex of the cabin awash in light and angles (a second bedroom is tucked behind a paneled wall in the loft).
Illuminated by a soaring atrium that allows natural light in even in the coldest months, the understated style and bright lofty interiors frame and complement the forest landscape.
The rock gardens include a terrace and patio with a hot tub for apres ski in dappled forests above the shore.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Smart Lock and wireless entry, Wifi throughout, cable TV, kitchen and bath essentials, laundry facilities, on site parking with EV charger.
AROUND
The resort city of South Lake Tahoe backs up to Washoe Meadows State park on the lake’s south shore, adjacent to Monument Peak and the Heavenly Ski Resort directly on the state line dividing California and Nevada. The second highest peak in California, the mountain is an all season area to enjoy the best of the region’s natural beauty and both summer and winter recreation.
Just west of the house is the famous Emerald Bay and State park and El Dorado Beach.
An hour north, the former Olympic games venue of Squaw Valley on the Nevada side features some of the best world class ski runs and a charming Alpine village of shops and restaurants.
The bustling south shore is the gambling mecca with the glittering casinos and a bit of shabby glitz while the north shore is a quiet residential outpost. The east shore is largely undeveloped and the west still has an old fashioned appeal. The stunning blue green lake at the center is worth the drive around to check it all out. With four distinct regions, the lake has a little something for everyone.
