West Sonoma County’s Sebastopol is an ideally situated community with its proximity to the best that Northern California has to offer, and a more off the beaten path, small town feel.
Famous as an apple growing region, the downtown area has transformed a few of the 19th century canneries into art galleries, wineries, bistros, boutiques and galleries.
Just fifteen minutes from both the Pacific Coast and the Russian River Valley, the area is home to the beautiful Laguna de Santa Rosa, the county’s largest freshwater wetlands and woodlands, that flow into the Russian River and the many heritage apple orchards that have thrived here since the 19th century. There are several areas less than an hour north where you can enjoy hiking in miles of unspoiled ancient Redwood forest areas offering beautiful and contemplative woodland escapes including Armstrong Woods State Park and Austin Creek recreation areas.
