First time Italy visitors can count on one thing- love at first sight. Those returning to rekindle that first spark of excitement will always find something new to discover, which is why Italy is one of our favorite countries, especially during the summer.  While Italy vacations can take a toll on the pocket, this time it doesn’t have to. We have stunning properties offering summer specials for you to discover the country without hassle. Besides, Italy has one of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in Europe, amazing climate, and delicious cuisine. However, the country is not perfect – it can be loud, overly developed in some areas, and full of tourists in the summer. Yet, even with the minor obstacles on the way, many of the old clichés still ring true; once you’ve visited, you may never want to travel anywhere else- especially if you book one of these properties with us.

All dreamers and doers cherish the idea of arriving in Italy, carry-on in hand, Italian at the tip of the tongue, outfit on point, open appetite…. History and grandeur await those keen to dive deep into one of civilization’s most ancient cultures, where up to this day majestic piazzas are meeting points and narrow, dimly lit streets lead to quaint, mysterious corners where one may spend a whole evening chit chatting to a stranger.

Italy’s most historic cities boast indelible charm and the properties we picked for you to visit happen to be in some of the most stunning regions.  To top it off, all the properties below offer summer specials. Where to begin your journey? For those searching an authentic experience somewhat void of crowds and masses, the countryside has a calm that belies its unbeatable beauty. If you are looking for some action, Rome and Lake Como won’t disappoint.

If there is a single national Italian characteristic, it’s to embrace life to the fullest –  hundreds of local festivals take place across the country on any given day to celebrate either a saint or the local harvest; and huge importance is placed on good food and in the collective evening stroll. There is also the country’s enormous cultural legacy: Tuscany alone has more classified historical monuments than any country in the world; there are considerable remnants of the Roman Empire all over the country, notably in Rome itself; and every region retains its own relics of an artistic tradition generally acknowledged to be among the world’s richest. Are you convinced yet? Our advice is to just plan in advance, as a lot of people in the world have the same feeling we do about Italy. Book in advance and you won’t regret.

Tuscany

Tuscany is located in central Italy and stretches from the Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its landscape and artistic heritage make the region quintessentially Italian, mening that everything you’ve always dreamed of in your Italian dreams  will come alive here. Besides that, Florence is here.

Rome

Like in many big cities around the world, Rome’s creative class also finds solace in the outskirts. The very popular, monumental areas are beautiful to gaze at, but to feel like a Roman, wander the Centro Storico. Gallery hop at infamous via Giulia, skip across the Ponte Sisto to Piazza Trilussa, gateway to trendy Trastevere. Dig for vintage finds at Via del Governo Vecchio, and enjoy the serenity of Piazza Farnese (don’t skip the apperitivo). Explore it on food or be authentic and rent a vespa. Regarless of your means of transportation, Rome is a treat to the eyes and the belly.

Umbria

When we think of Umbria we think of the Italian word ombra, which means shadow. Umbria is one of Italy’s smallest regions, and the many Umbrian hills and mountains cast long dark shadows over river valleys, which gives the whole area a mysterious look and feel.

Lake Como

Lake Como, Lago di Como in Italian, is Italy’s most popular lake and also its deepest. Lake Como is shaped like an inverted Y giving it a long perimeter. The lake is surrounded by mountains and hills and dotted with beautiful villas and resort villages. There are good hiking paths, boat trips and water activities. Popular since Roman times, Lake Como is a top romantic travel destination and a great spot for photography.

Siena

Siena is the capital of the Tuscan province of the same name and is not only one of the most fascinating towns in Tuscany but is also in a particularly beautiful position, with lovely environs. The best thing about Siena is its medieval character which fortunately has not been ruined by development.

Lazio

With a capital like Rome, it’s unsurprising that the rest of Lazio gets overlooked. But venture out of the city and you’ll discover a region that’s not only beautiful – verdant and hilly in the north, parched and rugged in the south – but also littered with historical and cultural gems.
