AROUND

Amoreiras is a primarily residential neighborhood in Lisbon with an eclectic mix of architectural styles. It’s a ten-minute walk from the hip district of Príncipe Real, a cultural corner of Lisbon that is full of restaurants, bars and boutiques.

The owners love to recommend Parque Eduardo VIII, with its remarkable box hedging and stunning view of the city from the top. Estufa Fria, inside the park, is a lush botanical garden and greenhouse that was formerly a basalt quarry. They also love Mãe de Água (Mother of Water), a massive reservoir inside an ornate 18th-century water museum.

For art lovers, there is also Gulbenkian Foundation and the Museum of Modern Art. And Sintra – the charming mountain town known for its colorful Moorish-style palaces, and deemed a world heritage center by UNESCO, is just a 30-minute drive.
