This 400sqm space has a large woodburner on each floor. Fires will be lit before guests arrive, and firewood is supplied for the duration of each stay. There is also an electric radiator in the bedroom and a heated towel rail in the shower room. There are cashmere blankets and sheepskins to snuggle up with in front of the fire.
The bedroom has a comfy king-sized bed with finest bedlinen with an en-suite shower room and a separate toilet, divided from the gallery by huge hessian and silk curtains. A pair of socks is provided as an arrival gift, and there are robes, hairdryer and hot water bottles for guest use, as well as wonderful large White Company towels.
A fridge, hotplates, oven, kettle, crockery etc, all cooking facilities are located in the large workshop. There is wifi throughout the Gallery and a stereo system.
The owners will fill the fridge for the guests with organic eggs, local bacon, home-baked bread, butter, jams, coffee, tea and milk. They can cook for themselves, but alternatively candlelit dinners cooked by a local caterer can be arranged at extra cost. The owners are also happy to help with reservations at good local restaurants or pubs.
The shepherds hut in the grounds sleeps a further two guests, for a maximum of four guests. There is s stove, but guests have to share the shower room.
AROUND
This vacation home rental in Suffolk is located on the edge of the historic village of Eye, which has a bakery, deli, butcher and cafés, as well as antique shops and a small castle. There is a market every Wednesday morning, and a small farmers market every Friday morning with fresh locally-caught fish and farm produce. There are several pubs and restaurants nearby, including The Fox and Goose at Fressingfield and The Swan Inn at Hoxne.
Attractions within easy reach include Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum, the coast at Southwold and Walberswick, and Minsmere nature reserve. The cities of Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich are all about 30 minutes drive. For those who like to sail, the Norfolk Broads or the estuary of the River Deben are nearby.
