AROUND
Grand Dammuso is located in the heart of the archeological Sesi park in Pantelleria. There’s not an abundance of things to do here, but that’s the general ethos. Those in-the-know come for the food, the sunbathing, the genuine community and the company of their loved ones in a spectacular natural setting. You can rent a moped or a car while you’re on the island, and explore its coves and inlets.
With volcanic activity still aplenty, the island doubles as an open-air spa. In the summer, the owners suggest watching the smoky fumaroles come out of the ground during a trek to Favare, taking a dip in the thermal waters of Cala Nikà or just laying down for hours in the bubbling waters of Lago Specchio di Venere, after having covered your body with its dark, smoothing clay.
