Tucked away down a quiet side street in the Pimlico neighborhood of west London, this beautifully redesigned Regency townhouse turned boutique hotel is the third venture of partners and hoteliers Charlotte and Justin Salisbury.
Originally designed by famed 19th century architect Thomas Cubitt, whose work can be seen in some of the areas finest houses in nearby Belgravia as well as portions of Buckingham Palace itself, the grand manor’s facade and period features are beautifully restored and add depth and grace to the newly reimagined building.
Designed as an intimate and clubby boutique destination, each of the ten rooms pair elegant Regency inspired themes with vintage modernism, rustic accents and a chic but welcoming ease. Several of the rooms are fairly compact while the two suites and rooftop loft are spacious and a tad more glamorous with ornate fixtures and fabulous bespoke design.
As avid connoisseurs and collectors, the owners have populated the hotel with a smart selection of original works including Dan Baldwin montages, Pure Evil’s Warhol pastiches, the Connor Brothers’ pulp covers, and Dave White’s groovy disco shark in the Club Suite’s bathroom.
The basement Clarendon Cocktail Cellar is reminiscent of a slightly gritty NYC bar with an inspired mixologist stirring up delicious sometimes experimental beverages while on the ground floor from day to night experience seasonal & fresh produce in the Cambridge Street Kitchen. A welcoming social space by day serving all-day brunch, cold-pressed juices & All Press coffee, it transforms into a popular modern restaurant at night.
Thoughtfully conceived and designed with a keen eye for detail and loads of creative imagination, this chic London hotel offers a little eclectic whimsy along with a whole lot of style.
