The ancient stone exterior of this farmhouse luxury villa rental in Italy blends beautifully with the Tuscan countryside, concealing the great surprise that lies within it. A recent, painstaking conversion has taken features of the original building – from wooden beams to deeply sunk windows – and framed them with contemporary flair. A basic palette of white walls with wooden and tiled floors is brought to life with splashes of bold color and animal skin, and a combination of custom-made furnishings and world art.
It’s a huge property, with 18 rooms, four of which are bedrooms. There’s a spacious split-level lounge, a dining room, and a large kitchen. The second floor has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. There is an adjoining barn with a bedroom, shower-room and lounge/office.
The house is surrounded in olive trees, vines and a variety of fruit trees. Its large garden has three paved terraces. The first is accessed from the kitchen and has a dining area and barbecue. It leads to the second terrace, with its massive dining table. The pool area has a pergola with a marble table and herb garden, and boasts spectacular views across the Tuscan countryside to the Apennines. The final terrace is a shaded spot with a jacuzzi.
