This cluster of old Tuscan farmhouse buildings was recently converted into a small, elegant B&B, retaining its traditional Tuscan style, with 100-year-old chestnut beams, terracotta tiles and thick Tuscan-style walls. Its setting, and small size, make it a very quiet and relaxing getaway.
The three farmhouse buildings (the main house, the outdoor lobby and the pool house) are located around a courtyard and pool area, and are surrounded by a manicured garden with ancient olive trees.
The property has four separate units, which can accommodate 12 guests in total. Two single rooms have queen beds and their own bathrooms – one even has its own private walled garden. The two suites have two rooms and one shared bathroom each, making them ideal for a family or two couples traveling together.
One of the suites is in the attic, with cool low ceilings and huge beams made from entire chestnut tree trunks – making it a fun escape for a family of four.

AROUND
The property is located in a nature reserve, with beautiful hikes from the B&B. There are also plenty of great drives to nearby hamlets. The manager can provide recommendations for great food and wine in the local area. Make sure to ask him about local vineyards.
Other sights to see include a variety of local outdoor markets from Wednesday to Sunday, the world-famous marble caves at Carrara, the colorful villages of Cinque Terre, and the 40km of uninterrupted world-class beaches along the Versilia coast, just a few kilometers away. And of course, the great cities of Pisa, Luca and Florence are all less than an hour’s drive from the B&B.

BEST TIME TO VISIT
Local holidays are 15 July to the end of August so beaches and all tourist attractions are very busy. Best time to avoid the crowds is May to the end of June, or September through to the end of October. The weather generally gets warm from May and stays so until the end of October.
