Set within the city’s Pest district just a short walk from the left bank of the Danube, this 19th century former palace has been transformed from its romantic neo-classical origins into a quirky and stylish luxury boutique hotel.

The unusual restoration has amplified the architectural characteristics by giving the interiors a distressed, shabby chic make over. Serving as a gallery of sorts, each of the eleven rooms is completely unique and named after artists who have contributed works throughout the hotel. Many of the works are featured in what were their former studios and sit alongside reclaimed, up-cycled and vintage furnishings and decor.

There are two bright and intimate reception rooms and a lounge with an honesty bar as well as a sunny dining area where breakfast and lunch are served.

Part of a larger lifestyle concept, the hotel operates two companion properties just a short walk or drive away. The members only Brody Studios is an arts and social club where the owners host cultural happenings and dinners and the Brody Art Yard, a newly opened gallery and exhibition space with works presented by contemporary artists.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Concierge services with customized city, art and wine tours available. Breakfast and lunch served daily with optional room service and honesty bar. Housekeeping. Wifi throughout.

AROUND

A city of stunning romantic beauty, Budapest is divided into two distinct sections: the hilly Buda and Old Town district, and the flat Pest district bisected by the Danube and connected by the Chain Bridge. Further divided into twenty three ever widening neighborhoods, the hotel is located in the artsy up and coming 8th district in Pest. Once a slightly seedy red-light district, the hotel faces the national museum among the formerly crumbling palaces of Józsefváros. The restored elegance is everywhere, with neo-classical, Barque and Art Nouveau architecture and romantic bridges across the river. You’re within walking distance of all the main left bank sights, including the now famous “ruined pubs.” Located throughout the 7th district in the old Jewish quarter, these underground bars in the ruins of abandoned buildings are part of a unique nightlife. Left in ruins after WW2, the area is now a vibrant and fascinating part of the culture as are the many thermal baths the city is famous for. Grab the funicular for a ride up Castle Hill to the Old Town with the remnants of Roman and medieval eras and sweeping views of the city.
