Located in the beautiful Cotswold village of Upper Slaughter, this former chapel has been transformed into a charming and cozy cottage for two. 

Built in 1885 and recently converted into stylish vacation home rental, it occupies one of the most picturesque spots in the Cotswolds with lovely views of the River Eye and the lush countryside. Constructed of the area’s famous honey colored limestone, the split level layout includes the open plan ground floor living area with a compact but fully equipped modern kitchen and a dining area, all warmed by the wood burning stove. Up the steep stairs to the mezzanine is a double bedroom and bath with a glass balustrade that allows for views of the river from your bed. Furnished with colorful vintage modern pieces, lacquer accents and  simple decor, the interiors are brightly illuminated from the large clerestory windows.

At the back of the house is a sunny flower garden sheltered by stone walls with a table for two making it the perfect place to dine and relax.

AROUND 

Upper Slaughter is in the very the heart of the Cotswolds with parts of the town dating back to the 12th century and The River Eye meandering through. Just outside the door are many foot paths through the countryside, the woods and several ancient villages as well as an abundance of great pubs and restaurants throughout the area. The picturesque towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, Burford, Bourton-on-Water, Winchombe and Chipping Camden are all within easy reach. Picture perfect and spanning six counties, the region has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is an idyllic and well preserved swath of lush grassland and rolling hills dotted with thatch-roofed medieval villages, stately mansions and churches built from the distinctive local limestone. The bustling market town of Stroud is under an hour drive where you’ll find interesting shops, pubs and cafés as are Gloucester and the ancient market town of Cirencester and a wealth of gorgeous houses and gardens open to the public. And, stretching from Chipping Campden to Bath, the famous Cotswold Way extends for over one hundred miles while passing through picturesque villages with stunning views of the countryside. Both Bath and the city of Bristol are within ninety minutes and London lies two hours east.
