Nestled in the French countryside on fifteen acres of tranquil private grounds, this carefully restored 18th century villa has preserved all of the authentic and classic features from the past.
Working with local artisans and employing traditional techniques, the extensive renovations took several years to complete to create a stylish mix of contemporary and antique French style. A former religious retreat, the home is large and welcoming and can accommodate up to fourteen with a cozy fireside lounge and three dining areas both inside and out. The fully equipped hand built kitchen is the sociable heart of the house and there’s a second smaller kitchen for overflow celebrations. There is a quiet office/study and seven bedrooms, each with their own distinctive character and décor.
Bright and airy, the interiors are enhanced by many original features, local brocante treasures, and hand crafted furnishings and antiques that complement the historic aspects of the property.
The expansive grounds wrap around the house with a mixture of lush gardens and terraces for alfresco dining. There is ample space for relaxation and play with a pool and lounge areas and a tennis court.
This is the perfect hideaway for family and group holidays and the ideal base for exploring the historic Aude region.
