Designed and created by artists, this glamping compound in Pioneertown is an art installation in and of itself. Located in a remote and peaceful tract of eighty acres, this combination of dwellings is surrounded by Joshua Tree forests and vast desert vistas.
After falling in love with the landscapes and infinite stars of the Mojave, the owners decided to preserve and share the natural beauty of the land with others in a unique and artistic way. The site includes a Hemingway-esque platform tent of crisp white canopy and wood plank floors that sleeps up to four. Furnished simply with vintage pieces including an original Royal typewriter and it’s own gas stove, it’s both intimate and expansive with stunning desert views from the large deck. Clad in black, the modern kitchen and bathhouse is well equipped and includes an outdoor shower. There are multiple lounge nooks and a sculpture garden, as well as a massive patio with a sixteen foot dining table and BBQ for grilling and dining al fresco.
Completely off-grid and powered by the sun, this unique property invites you to unplug, do a little star gazing and experience the magic of the Mojave.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
The property is entirely unplugged with solar power and pure well water. Climate controlled gas fireplace for heat in the tent, kitchen and bath essentials.
AROUND
Located just outside of Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree National Park in the Mojave Desert, the camp is also within minutes of historic Pioneertown, a kitschy Hollywood relic founded in the 1940s as an authentic frontier town movie set. Today there are a few shops, cafes and galleries to visit including the famous Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace. There are miles of outdoor desert adventure in the area as well as several unique attractions and interesting local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, and the famed Integratron. Palm Springs is less than an hour drive and further afield, the San Jacinto mountains rise above the desert floor and are lined with miles of hiking trails at a cooler elevation. Indian Canyon and Palm Canyon are also within driving distance for rural getaways in the Coachella Valley area. Los Angeles is a two hour drive.
