Situated in the Perivolia neighborhood within the boundaries of old town Chania, this luxury villa in Greece is surrounded by vineyards and orange groves in a fast developing urban area that combines both old and new.

Designed by the Greek and Libyan architects, Alexandros Marios Nikiforiadis & Danae Skaraki, the meticulously crafted home’s narrow elongated silhouette yields to the contours of the site, orienting all the living spaces to the south facing views of the White Mountains. Constructed of glass, metal and concrete with deep, overhanging roof lines, the structure is defined by two parallel corridors punctuated by steel columns, establishing the connection between the internal and external spaces. Laid out over two levels, the upper floor houses the main living areas with a central fireplace that divides the sitting rooms and eat-in galley kitchen. Illuminated on  multiple sides by expansive walls of glass, the interiors offer differing perspectives and angles of the property as well as privacy.

There are two double bedrooms and an en suite master bedroom that includes a private garden patio and a separate study upstairs, and a spacious, detached studio with a bathroom and a kitchen connected to a gallery on the lower level. Designed and furnished to complement the sleek modernism, the owner has populated the house with a sharp mix of contemporary furnishings and decor as well as a personal collection of photography and fine art.

The atrium to the east extends along the full length of the house leading to the  protected veranda on the western end. Concealed on all sides with leafy borders, the house achieves a maximum level of privacy with large expanses of lawn, lounge areas and dining terraces.
