Located in the Aude region in the village of Ferrals-les-Corbières, this medieval vacation home rental in France was once the home of local vineyard workers. Situated at the center of the village, the house is now one of three row houses that have been restored and connected, making an ideal holiday destination for groups and families.
Restored with many of it’s interesting historic features and characteristics intact, the house has been updated with an understated mix of mid-century interior style and furnished with a selection of items and design elements from the last century.
The ground floor includes a fully equipped open plan kitchen, and a living room with a fireplace. The terra-cotta tile floors, exposed original beams and unique spiral plaster and tile staircases give the house a wonderful rustic feel that also manages to be modern.
The staggered four floor layout allows for self contained privacy with a first floor en suite bedroom, a mezzanine double bedroom as well as a top floor studio bedroom with room for six guests.
One of the very few houses in the village with outdoor space, the enclosed courtyard garden allows for lounging and dining in the fresh air.

AROUND
The medieval village of Ferrals-les-Corbières sits along the banks of L’Orbieu river that meanders northeast through the Aude region in south central France. There are often local ‘fetes’ to enjoy as well as a theater for dance and local performers on the outskirts of town along with a big local outdoor market in the nearby town of Lezignan. Famous for its Cathar castles (especially Montsegur) and historic cities, the region of Aude is also home to the stunning fortified city of Carcasonne with it’s imposing citadel, narrow cobbled stone streets and medieval beauty. The area is also known for it’s picturesque countryside of lakes, forests and vineyards and rolling hills with walking trails in all directions for all levels. The nearby town of Limoux, situated on the banks of the river Aude has a lovely central square with cafes and a Friday market, and a little further afield is the medieval market town of Mirepoix.
