Set on almost five acres in one of the most picturesque valleys just outside of Ostuni, this vacation home rental in Italy is one of many Trulli’s unique to the region, and is a faithful example of their authentic and historic characteristics. Originally used as temporary shelters, the structure’s conical shapes and arched stone interiors have been carefully preserved and restored with respect for their cultural significance and beauty. Constructed using locally sourced lime and quarried stone, the home has been brought back to life in all of its striking detail and expanded through a clever use of glass cubes that connect each of the structures.
The interiors are a series of maze-like rooms artfully lit to create cozy living and sleeping areas with a fully equipped kitchen and three bedrooms that can accommodate up to eight. With a mix of rugged utilitarianism and stylish but understated decor and furnishings, the design preserves the simple and authentic spirit of the place .
The expansive grounds include an infinity pool with multiple lounge and dining areas, along with a quarry-stone barbecue and a wood-burning oven, all set within a thicket of olive groves, fruit orchards and native Mediterranean gardens providing a feeling of serene privacy.
