Located at the farthest northern point on the island in the small bay of Portinatx, this luxury boutique hotel in Ibiza was designed by a creative couple whose passion for collecting and global style is reflected among the lovely and curious treasures and objet d’art throughout the property (all for sale by the way).
Formerly a hostel built atop a fisherman’s house, the hotel was initially a blank slate of uniform rooms with a distinct lack of personality. The idyllic and romantic setting was ripe for a transformation and the duo set about creating a place of joyful inspiration overflowing with a stylish mix of color, texture and intricate detail.
Each of the nine double rooms overlooks the sea and all are individually designed with an eclectic array of boho chic style and a sense of laid back indulgence.
Downstairs, the on site restaurant puts the focus on supporting sustainably sourced ingredients, offering fresh fish caught by local fishermen and the best of what’s in season along with the perfect seaside spot on the terrace to savor it.
The shop/ bazaar is a loosely curated collection of delightful vintage items and designs collected from the couple’s globe trotting travels where you’ll want to grab that special item to remember this idyllic, one-of-a-kind island experience.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Full service staff with optional guided tours, on site massage and yoga instruction, local fishing, diving/snorkeling, horseback riding available with prices on request. Complimentary floaties, kayaks and sup boards for guests use. Breakfast served daily in the restaurant. Wifi throughout.
AROUND
In Ibiza City the party never stops, but in the farthest northern regions and around the island, there are sheltered coves, quiet stretches of coastline and lovely inland forests to explore. Formerly a fishing village, Portinatx is the north’s answer to the south’s boisterous resorts. Although several of the local beaches including S’Arenal Gros, S’Arenal Petit, and Playa Porto Beach offer some of the same plush amenities as well as stunning aquamarine waters for snorkeling and diving, the vibe is more relaxed and family friendly. There’s an abundance of great cafes and pubs that serve freshly sourced and caught local fare as well as areas to explore near the island’s famous lighthouse – the highest in the Balearics, with its stunning cliffs above the sea. The nearby north eastern villages of San Lorenzo and Balafia are steeped in Moorish history and worth a visit. And of course for the brave revelers, you can dive headlong into the fray and enjoy the fun and nightlife on Playa D’en Bossa and the dizzying pulse of the city to the south.
