Built in 1912 by a British tycoon, this elegant turn of the century townhouse turned B&B is located just a short stroll to La Rambla in Montevideo’s historic heart.

Discovered by an Italian publicist and designer who specializes in arts and culture, the house had been untouched for decades and was a diamond in the rough. The beautiful detail and original features were remarkably intact and an intricate three year restoration process fully recovered its historic grace and character. The unique L-shaped layout and multiple windows and skylights are unusual for the period, creating bright, cheerful interiors.

The main floor opens into a large sitting room with a library and study, and a formal dining room that can seat up to ten. Each room has been subtly enhanced with an eclectic color palette and vintage wallpapers without altering the original decorative elements and structural features.

The grand staircase is illuminated by a massive skylight and leads to the five en suite bedrooms, each uniquely designed with a colorful profusion of bespoke design and style.

A carefully selected collection of art, treasures and furnishings from around the world decorate the house with a mix of eras and styles that coexist beautifully.

There is a peaceful courtyard where you can enjoy lazy afternoons sipping coffee and apertivos while listening to the sounds of the city.

The house also serves as a multifunctional space for guests, with a small vintage shop  and the owner’s interior design studio, as well as a location for events and weddings.

Delivering a passionate personal statement on heritage and design, this luxury boutique hotel in Uruguay will dazzle you with it’s history and welcoming hospitality.
