St. Ives Studio, Cornwall, UK

This studio is inspired by the beautiful sandy beaches of Cornwall as well as its artistic and creative heritage. It’s situated in Downalong, in the heart of the St Ives, minutes from the town’s restaurants and art galleries, but is also only a stone’s throw from Porthgwidden Beach.

A light interior with a large picture window, white walls and wooden elements is brightened even further by golden accents – from fabrics to light fittings and soleil mirrors. We love the retro feel of the furnishings and the macrame plant hangers.

The flat is small but makes great use of space. The open-plan living room leads into a kitchen, while the bedroom and shower room are tucked out of sight. Large windows open out onto a lovely terrace with expansive views of the Cornish coast. This is a charming vacation home for rent in Cornwall, perfect for a couple.

AROUND

St Ives is one of Cornwall’s most popular and best-known holiday destinations. An old (but still functioning) fishing town with tiny cobbled streets, St Ives is also known for its excellent beaches, with golden sands, blue waters and great views. The town has many great cafés and restaurants, but is most famous for its many art galleries, workshops and studios. Don’t miss Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, Bernard Leach Pottery, St Ives Art School, and the many other art and cultural centres.

Each year, the St Ives September Festival celebrates the town’s artistic heritage. It runs through the middle two weeks of September with jazz, blues, folk sessions, classical concerts and arts events. There are also gallery open days when local artists open their studios to the public, as well as talks, lectures, poetry readings and workshops.
