Set on a lush cliff side between Anse Intendance and Taka Maka Bay, this luxury villa in the Seychelles is situated along the gorgeous coastline of Mahe with magnificent ocean views.
A private residence with the amenities and services of a five star hotel, the villa reflects the owners commitment to a thoughtfully conceived lifestyle experience.
Set behind a high perimeter wall and camouflaged by lush vegetation, the property is surrounded by impressive granite rock formations that were incorporated to dramatic effect in the interiors.
With the typical flat roofed verandah and colonnade, the villa’s proportions and style are classic colonial while the interiors are an exotic mix of French, Chinese, African, Indian and English influences.
The two story main building has a central court yard separating the upstairs bedroom and the downstairs lounge from the formal dining room and kitchen areas, while the main lounge below has an elevated library and media room featuring the massive granite wall.
The master bedroom has a large dressing room and en suite bathroom and an elevated work/study area overhead. There are two additional en suite bedrooms and a fourth bedroom in the guest cottage with a private entrance and a large verandah overlooking Intendance Beach.
Multiple Haveli palace doors from India were used in the construction and allow for the constant trade winds to flow through all parts of the house with many of the materials recycled from Burma and Kenya. Collected by the owners over a thirty year period, the stunning array of decor and furnishings were sourced from India, Central Africa and South East Asia and mixed with classic British colonial pieces.
Opposite the guest houses, there is a gazebo/sala, which can be used for outdoor dining or a relaxing massage and, in a rock cave next to the Gazebo, there is a large Jacuzzi adjacent to the pool overlooking the ocean.
Designed and built to be environmentally sensitive, the property incorporates solar power, rain water catchment and maximum energy efficiency features that are seamlessly integrated.
An exclusive retreat of remarkable architectural design and lush natural beauty, this villa is an indulgent hideaway that delivers the romance of a bygone era and the luxuries of today.
