Perched on a cliff in complete seclusion overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence, this cottage rental in Nova Scotia is situated near the renowned Cabot Trail surrounded by over one-hundred-and-fifty acres of fields, forest and windswept highlands.
The coastal design mimics maritime architecture of the region with cedar-shingle construction, and a whitewashed horizontal-board interior. Designed and built by artists and native Canadians, the house is a labor of love that reflects their appreciation for the area, its culture, history and traditions. Charming and comfortable, the open-plan living space features beams and vaulting ceilings that lend it a bright and airy feel, with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area surrounded by windows for spectacular views. Finished with both rustic and contemporary furnishings and decor, the cottage is welcoming and homey, with one cozy bedroom for two.
Outside, the large deck is positioned perfectly for spotting lobster boats, eagles, moose, bobcats, and the whales which pass by most of the year, and from where you’ll catch dramatic sunsets and panoramic views. You can also fire up the grill for dining alfresco.
A world of natural beauty is at your doorstep, from the warm sands of Chimney Corner beach, to the world-renowned Margaree river (great for wild salmon and trout fishing), the Cabot Trail and the stunning National Park.
