This villa for rent in France is situated among the vineyards and rolling hills of eastern Bordeaux along the meandering Dordogne river. A classically picturesque region, the home overlooks the countryside, vineyards, and St. Emilion in the distance.
Producers of an award winning, organically grown appellation, the estate’s wines are very widely distributed and very popular locally and internationally.
Originally built in the 18th century, the Château is designed in the typical bourgeois “petit château” style also called “longère” due to its long, south facing limestone silhouette. The chateau’s renaissance began in 1953 with the Roux family who restored the structure and the vineyards and was later acquired in 2005, by a Dutch entrepreneur and great wine lover to help reestablish it as a noted appellation. More recently, the estate changed hands again and was bought by LFP Grands Vignobles de France continuing with the label’s long tradition.
The house has undergone extensive modernization without sacrificing it’s historic purpose or traditional style with natural travertine, rich wood and luxurious details and finishes.
The large custom-made designer kitchen and dining area overlooks the pool and leads to a spacious covered living terrace facing the extraordinary landscape.
Each of the six en suite bedrooms have views of the vines with room for up to twelve guests. Family antiques and heirloom pieces are mixed with contemporary designs and Farrow and Ball shades that lend a classically French flair.
Placed in an idyllic spot that resembles a naturalist painting, this is Bordeaux wine country at it’s picturesque best.
