Dating back to the 17th century, this vacation home rental in Ireland is  located directly on the village green in the town of Duleek. Part of some of the most ancient settlements along the island’s eastern coast, it’s said that the barn and adjacent cottage stood here during the epic Battle of the Boyne. Built from stone with a thatched roof, the home and barn were in a state of disrepair before the current restoration brought them back to life.

Beautifully restored to retain much of its traditional characacter, the whitewashed exteriors look much as they have for hundreds of years, while the interiors have been brightened and modernized with a cheerful and rather eclectic update.

The barn has a well equipped all-in-one kitchen, dining and living room space with a sofa bed for an extra adult guest or two children. There is a workspace for using your laptop or planning your day trips with the local information folder.

Upstairs on the mezzanine level there is an en suite double bedroom with views over the Fair Green at the front of the barn. This room can accommodate two foldaway single beds for adults or children, and a travel cot is also available.

The house features a unique mix of period and new furniture, fixtures and fittings and all of the comforts of home.

There is a lovely patio garden with a dining table for dining alfresco and enjoying the summer sun.

The adjacent cottage is also available to rent through BoutiqueHomes
