The area outside of Asheville is a natural wonderland, with miles of national park land and mountain hiking trails nearby, including the famous Appalachian Trail. Several dozen trails are within a mile of the cabin.
Loaded with character, downtown Asheville is home to the vibrant River Arts district filled with galleries and museums, historic architecture and iconic landmarks with an ever expanding culinary and microbrew scene. Stylish and a bit trendy, at it’s heart, Asheville is still a mountain town spawned from very traditional roots. It’s location next to the famous Blue Ridge mountains lends the city a gorgeous natural backdrop with vast areas to explore including nearby Pisgah National Forest and Chimney Rock State Park. For winter sport, you are within a forty minute drive to Wolf Ridge and Cataloochee ski areas.
And of course the crown jewel of the area is the stunning and vast 19th-century Biltmore estate built by George Vanderbilt. Considered the largest private home ever built in the US, it’s a Gilded Age gem of over 250 rooms on over 8000 acres with a magnificent collection of artwork by masters like Renoir.
