Yellow Submarine, London, England

One of several row houses along a residential street in Fulham, this vacation home rental in London is just minutes from the high street, restaurants, pubs and nightlife.

The traditional terrace house configuration is laid out on two levels with the staid exteriors giving way to a cheerful and modern restoration on the inside. The vertical layout has been lightened and modernized but with much of the original character intact.

The ground floor is a bright and inviting space with a large sittting and dining area with a fireplace and a bright galley kitchen overlooking the streets below.

Upstairs, each room is named to honor one of the Beatles: the en suite “John” room with lovely garden views and the double “Paul” bedroom and a “Ringo” room with a sofa bed.  Bold pops of colors, classic Beatles photos and graphics from Yellow Submarine and quirky pieces from the flea market make the interiors a joyful experience while the many windows flood the rooms with welcome sunlight.

This is a chic and cheap little flat in an interesting part of the city.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Wifi throughout, 42″ SMART TV with Netflix and online programming, kitchen and bath essentials, laundry facilities. Paid parking off premises.

AROUND

Bordered by Hammersmith to the west, Chelsea to the east and Kensington to the north, the vibrant and prosperous left bank neighborhood of Fulham is a quiet and cosmopolitan area of classic Victorian and Edwardian architecture, grand halls and extravagant green spaces. The river front Putney to Richmond path, which follows the route of the famous Oxford V Cambridge boat race is a great way to enjoy the area. Dotted with award winning restaurants, organic markets, pubs and shopping, Fulham is a walkable and lovely south western neighborhood to explore.

London of course is more than the sum of it’s parts and represents the vast multicultural diversity that makes it a truly global city. The historic splendour and iconic landmarks are legion here, from  Westminster Abbey and Big Ben to The Tower and Buckingham Palace, the city is a blend of world heritage and modern capital might all contained within it’s original medieval boundaries along the Thames. The glittering west end neighborhoods of Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Soho, Kensington, Notting Hill, Chelsea, Portobello Road and Camden encompass the core of the city which also boasts more lush parkland than any other world capital and an abundance of variety to discover.
