Located just outside of central Montepllier, this beautifully restored 19th century farmhouse has undergone a subtle and historically respectful renovation that showcases the beautiful original features and detail while bringing it into the 21st century.

Belonging to the same family since 1905, the former wine estate sits within leafy park like grounds with fruit orchards and a former wind mill on several acres. The two story structure’s stone construction and classic period design are romantic and charming and the house retains its historic integrity both inside and out. The interiors are bright and welcoming with expansive open plan spaces designed with an eye for detail, historical accuracy and fresh modern style. The ground floor houses a large living area with a fun checkerboard patterened tile floor that extends through to a newly modern kitchen and dining area. Upstairs are four bedrooms that can sleep up to ten guests with newly renovated baths and views of the property.

Outside the terrace runs the length of the house and is the perfect place to dine alfresco and enjoy the lush private gardens.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Wifi throughout, TV with DVD player, music/audio deck with Bluetooth. Air conditioning in bedrooms. Optional housekeeping.

AROUND

The charming village of Mudaison is within a few minutes drive as is the village of  Mauguio with it’s awesome daily open air market. The area is home to many specialty producers and growers as well as some of the best vineyards. Nearby Montpellier is just twenty minute drive. Don’t miss the medieval center or Ecusson, where a  network of narrow alleyways, elegant mansions and stately commercial buildings makes for an ideal walking tour of the pedestrian-only Rue de la Loge where you can peruse the antiques and craft shops and stroll the nearby port. As home to the 13th century Université de Montpellier the town has a vibrant and contemporary youth culture and a mix of multicultural influences from North Africa and around the world.
