Anchored firmly into the hillside above Cabrils, this holiday home in Spain designed by Barcelona and Mexico City based firm, Cadaval & Solà-Morales is a tour-de-force of architectural and collaborative achievement.
The wildly unorthodox ‘X’ design is actually in harmonic response to the setting in the hills above Cabrils. The steep sloping hillside hovers over the valley, with breathtaking mountain and sea views from every room.
Soaring double height ceilings with vast expanses of glass and exposed concrete floors create the minimalist foundation of the design, while sharp angles optimize the jaw-dropping vistas.
Distributed over two floors, the ground floor living space leads into a state-of-the-art open plan kitchen with a bespoke marble table with ample room for entertaining and dining for ten. Divided into two parts, there are also three double bedrooms and two and a half baths placed at the back.
Upstairs is the luxurious master suite with a dressing room and spa bathroom, and a separate study/office all with spectacular views.
Barcelona based Sandra Soler Studios has created lively design interventions with Eames inspired furnishings, oversized graphics and original art that inspire.
The gardens slope down from the structure to an infinity pool and spa with a lounge terrace and barbecue area and a full, walk in sauna.
The rooftop terrace with a glass perimeter is an inspired addition that encompasses the entire top of the structure, placing you at the most dazzling of vantage points.
A powerful and bold design statement, this unique home is unabashedly modern, yet in gentle symbiosis with nature.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
