Located above the sea a short walk from the famous Socorro beach, this vacation home rental in Tenerife was built during a boom in the island’s plantation expansion and is one of six distinctive haciendas on a large estate.

Dating back to the 17th century, the hacienda is constructed of thick, whitewashed plaster, stone and timbered beams that have withstood centuries of weathering.

The main living and shared dining area is an intimate space for two with an eat-in kitchen and one bright double bedroom with views of the gardens and the colors of the sunset filtering through.

Outside the veranda is the place to dine while overlooking the ocean and tropical gardens with a spectacular infinity pool with views over the northern coast and the island of La Palma.

The gardens have more than one hundred palm trees, a diversity of ornamental trees and a wide selection of helicons and several community seating areas that provide as much privacy as possible for guests.

AROUND

Of the seven Canary Islands off of West Africa, Tenerife is the largest and the most popular, which sees tourists flocking to it’s year round warm weather beaches and resorts. The southern tip of the island swells with revelers in July and August with clubs that are open all night and bonfire parties on the many beaches including Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas.

Home to many celebrations throughout the year, the island plays host to the largest Carnaval outside of Brazil in February with partygoers in colorful costumes, parades, music and dancing that goes for days.

Dominated by Mt. Teide at the center, the dormant volcano is Spain’s tallest peak, and is home to the UNESCO designated Teide National Park with an amazing network of hiking trails including Las Cañadas Aguamansa, Rambla de Castro, Punta de Teno, and Masca where you can traverse the tropical jungle and volcanic landscapes or scale the Cliffs of Los Gigantes to watch the whales offshore.

An island of extraordinary diversity and culture, the Los Realejos coastline contains numerous historical spots and faded old colonial towns to explore including La Orotava with its traditional houses and cobblestone pedestrian areas.

The 15th century capitol town of San Cristóbal de La Laguna is a historic World Heritage gem, and is divided into two distinct parts – Villa de Arriba and Villa de Abajo and is worth a visit for it’s grand architecture and excellent restaurants.
