AROUND
A little less posh, but not without the iconic coastal scenery of the neighboring French Riviera, the town of Alassio located along the Mediterranean, allows you to enjoy the sun drenched beauty and beachy fun on the Italian side.
Boasting one of the longest beaches in eastern Liguria, the popular seaside resort town’s lively historic center is backed by mountains and numerous hiking trails that lead throughout the countryside.
Populated with great seaside restaurants and shops as well as lovely villas, there are also smaller, picturesque villages to the southwest including Laigueglia and Cervo. In the opposite direction is the historic center of Albenga with its medieval towers and cathedral.
The Italian Riviera resort of San Remo is an hour south and the French Rivieran towns of Nice and Monaco are just over an hour away. The interior regions of Piedmont and Turin are a two hour drive as are the winter playground of Alpes Maritime.
