This grand apartment is located in a 19th-century building that was once the Palace of the Countess of Medina. Over the years it has apparently been frequented by great musicians and well-known cultural personalities. It’s also minutes from the Royal Palace and the Opera Theatre, making it a great location from which to explore the Spanish capital. From the main living room, windows look out over the dome of the Teatro Real of Madrid.
The apartment retains many of its original features, most notably the wooden beams which line both its high ceilings in the main living area and the low ceilings of its attic rooms. Interiors were redesigned in 2014 mixing grand palace with mountain retreat, so it’s at once regal and cosy, with bright and bold colors as well as natural textures. Furniture is a combination of modern with antique and vintage pieces – a blend of rococo and gilt with industrial and contemporary.
The apartment is divided into three floors, with enough beds for seven people. Bedroom 1 has two twins, bedroom 2 has one queen, bedroom 3 is a loft with 1 queen, and there is an extra bed in the living room.

The kitchen has a four-ring hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dryer. One of the bathrooms features a hamman Turkish bath.
The main living room has a dining area and open kitchen with fireplace, 50″ plasma TV (with international channels), and a speaker with bluetooth. The library living room has a desk, with a queen size bed dressed as a sofa.
There is air conditioning and heating. The apartment is reached by elevator.
AROUND
The house is located in the heart of Madrid, close to the Royal Palace and the Opera Theatre, as well as the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, which can be reached via the area’s pedestrian streets. The area has lush public gardens, including Sabatini, and lovely shopping streets with small boutiques, restaurants and cafes.
