This elegant two-story penthouse is located in central Madrid, in an imposing building that was built in 1907. It’s been fully renovated with a blend of contemporary furnishings and art, as well as vintage pieces which give the apartment an almost industrial feel. Large windows make it light and airy, while exposed wooden beams and a cool mezzanine bedroom lend it character.
We love the pretty rooftop garden terrace, accessed through the French windows of the living room, which offers unbeatable views over the center of Madrid and a unique oasis of peace and quiet more normally found outside a country cottage.
The apartment has four bedrooms, with a configuration of beds that lends itself to two families or a large group of friends sharing. Room 1 has two single beds. Room 2 (in the attic) has two floors, one with a dressing room and the other with a double bed. Room 3 has a double bed, and Room 4 has four single beds and a TV.
There are also two living rooms – one on each floor. The main living room has a 50-inch plasma TV with international channels. The second-floor living room is a chill-out zone with table football.

The kitchen has a glass-ceramic cooking hob with four burners, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge, a washing machine and a dryer. The bedrooms and living room are air-conditioned.
AROUND
The apartment is located in the Chamberí neighborhood of downtown Madrid. Architecturally, it is full of modernist, neo-gothic and neo-mudéjar buildings. While its known for its large embassy buildings, Chamberi is also a lively residential area, with shops, countless restaurants, cafes and fashionable nightspots.
The owners recommend the most genuine Madrid and local tapasto be found in the Plaza de Olavide. The neighborhoods of Chueca, Malasaña and the golden mile of the Barrio de Salamanca are within easy walking distance.
