La Vie en Rose has living and dining rooms and a courtyard on the ground floor, with a bathroom, toilet and sink.

You will need to climb a large green, spiral staircase to access the three large bedrooms on the first floor. The Pink room is the perfect family room, with its romantic balcony overlooking the courtyard and swinging jasmine. It has a double bed plus a single cot for one child. It opens onto Evêché street and the courtyard.

The Green bedroom has a more secluded charm. Invested with antique furniture, it feels as if it is suspended in time. It has a double bed and a small bathroom, and opens onto Evêché street and the long corridor.

The Mauve room is a tiny bit smaller but opens up onto the veranda and overlooks the courtyard through a veil of bougainvillea. Its large marble bathroom is a mini palace of multicolored glass.

This vacation home rental in Pondicherry is for rent in its entirety, making it perfect for a family or group of friends.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

AROUND

The region of Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry, and known affectionately as Pondy) was ruled by the French until 1954, and its colonial past and aesthetic are still very visible in its capital city.

The house is located close to the famous Sri Aurobindo Ashram, which attracts large numbers of spiritual travelers, and there is another location in Auroville. Streets are quiet and clean, and lined with colonial-style townhouses and bougainvillea. There are eclectic shops and plenty of opportunities for yoga and meditation.

The owners recommend visits to Chettinad, Chennai, Mahabalipurram, Gingee Fort, Tiruvanamallai, and Tranquebar.
