Designed by Cass Calder Smith (CCS Architects) of San Francisco and New York, this alpine chalet highlights the best of the rugged mountain environment with modern design priciples and a stylish rustic warmth.

Placed is a sunny south facing direction with stunning mountain views, the loft style residence is a nicely balanced combination of contemporary and material luxuries with exceptional spatial design.

Laid out over two stories, the upstairs great room is bright and expansive and includes a fireside living and dining area with an adjacent open plan kitchen that can serve up to eight guests. The interiors feature soaring double height windows with unparalleled views of Alpine Meadows to the front and scenic National Forest views to the back. With a simple collection of contemporary furnishings and decor, the dark accent walls and polished concrete lend a bit of drama and style.

The en-suite master bedroom resides upstairs with two double bedrooms downstairs, one with a twin Trundle bed perfect for kids.

Outside you can take in the views from the deck and sink into the hot tub apres ski and weather permitting, BBQ and dine al fresco. Creatively designed with great understated style this modern mountain chalet is an all season escape.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

AROUND

Backing up to Sierra national forest trails to the top of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, the house is positioned within a short drive to the lake shores to enjoy the best of the region’s natural beauty and all season recreation. The former Olympic games venue of Squaw Valley features some of the best world class ski runs and a charming Alpine village of shops and restaurants. With four distinct regions, the lake has a little something for everyone. The busy, overdeveloped south shore is the gambling mecca with tacky casinos and a bit of shabby glitz while the north shore is a quiet residential outpost. The east shore is largely undeveloped and the west still has an old fashioned appeal. The stunning blue green lake at the center is worth the drive around to check it all out.

LOCATION

Lake Tahoe, California. Nearest Airport: Reno Airport (45 mins)

BEST TIME TO VISIT: Spring and summer are ideal for enjoying the lake while winter offers some of California’s best skiing through spring.
