This three-story villa is one of three luxury windmills in a small complex, located on the beautiful Greek island of Santorini. It’s hard to imagine a more fun way of getting to know the island.
The design is a quirky combination of local architecture (smooth, whitewashed clay walls and shuttered windows) and country cottage style (dainty floral patterns and curved wooden furnishings). One of the best features is the fact that the rooms are, of course, completely round.
The ground floor consists of a living room, dining room and kitchen. The first-floor bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. The second-floor bedroom has two queens, an en-suite bathroom, and a fabulous cone-shaped ceiling.
The property can be rented alone or with the others, for larger parties and for events – but each home has its own privacy. Recommended for groups of friends as well as families with children.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
The villa has its own pool with jacuzzi tubes, a private terrace, a flower garden, a parking space, and air conditioning in each room. Its kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, fridge, dishwasher, filter coffee maker, espresso coffee maker and toaster. There is also a Broil King BBQ.
The house has satellite television, a CD/DVD player, radio, JBL docking station, telephone and safe deposit box. Bedrooms have eco-friendly mattresses, feather pillows and slippers. Bathrooms have Apivita amenities and hairdryers.
AROUND
The villa is located on the north-east coast of Santorini, between the capital of Fira and the traditional settlement of Ia – a peaceful escape even at peak season. From the terrace, guests have a panoramic view of the Aegean as well as the islands of Ios, Naxos, Koufonissi, Amorgos and Anafi.
Owners recommend a boat tour around the island’s dramatic caldera, and will be happy to arrange it. Some of the island’s beaches are only accessible by boat. Choose from a traditional boat or a catamaran. They also recommend sampling local cuisine like small tomatoes, white eggplant, peanuts, fruits, vegetables, and the famous fava which has been cultivated on the island for more than 3,000 years.
