AROUND

In the heart of California wine country, the home is situated just a few miles from the historic center of Paso Robles for great dining, wine tasting rooms, antique stores and shopping. There are world class California vintages and some of the most beautiful coastal country in which to sip nearby. Only a half hour to the coast, it’s also the back country, mid-state destination for the best of rural California. Road trip it to Morro Bay and marvel at Montana de Oro State Park that demonstrates just what the romantic California ethos is about. Under an hour away, Hearst Castle is a mind boggling homage to the ode of Citizen Cane that will leave you with an eye popping look into the long ago gilded age. The area is also the breadbasket of America, so get the best before it goes at the Cambria and Cayuga farmers markets during the June harvest. Hoof it on horseback or spin your wheels on the great cycling routes to enjoy the gorgeous network of backroads. San Francisco is just further north enough to warrant another trip entirely. There’s enough here to discover and come back for on it’s own.
