Voted among the Best British Holiday Houses by Condé Nast Traveller and the UK’s 50 Best Winter Weekends by The Times, this vacation home for rent in England is one of four cottages on the grounds of a 17th century Jacobean manor house.
Set in a row in a converted cartshed, the space was reinvented by the interior designer-owner and inspired by the natural elements of Norfolk’s coastal landscape. Seal’s colour palette reflects the grey seals of nearby Blakeney Point as muted natural shades contrast with striking tones of black and charcoal and natural oak, slate, linen and cow hide set the mood.
The original timbers and structural features have been restored and cleverly integrated with modern conveniences and are complemented with oak floors and natural materials that echo the wild beauty of the local environment.
The layout includes a hand-built modern kitchen and an open plan sitting area with a large open fireplace and cozy log burning stove.
Upstairs is a cozy bedroom for two with a four poster bed and an in-room cast iron roll top bath and en suite shower room with large wal-in shower.
Decorated with a mix of vintage and contemporary furnishings and decor, the atmosphere seamlessly blends the historic rustic aspects of the home with a stylish spin.
Outside, there is a private terrace for dining and relaxing and a shared garden space with views across the garden onto open fields. Views of the back are of the Hall and west barn.
Both rustic and chic, this is a relaxing and authentic getaway on the English seaside.
