Discovered in ruins by a French couple, this former farm property in Provence was transformed over a three year period into a spacious and elegant property designed for large groups. Set in over three acres of lush gardens surrounded by forests and vineyards, the historic farmhouse or ‘mas’, is a majestic structure whose humble beginnings have been elevated by a thorough but subtle contemporary makeover.
Using traditional materials, rich colors and bespoke design flourishes, the interiors have an expansive modern feel – from the large living and dining area next to the professional kitchen, to the seven generously-sized en suite bedrooms, the property can accommodate up to fourteen overnight guests.
Designed as a recreational retreat for entertaining, the property includes a billiards room, wine cellar, home cinema, spa and sauna, tennis courts, table tennis, Petanque and two summer kitchens with barbecues.
The massive orangerie was added adjacent to the house and is a striking venue that can be rented in conjunction with the house as an event venue. The property offers multiple outdoor living spaces for festive dining on the swimming pool side, and more intimate areas on the summer kitchen side. Illuminated by a variety of colored lights, the swimming pool makes a dramatic impact in the evenings.
Surrounded by vineyards and woodlands, this lovely property is an ideal location for an indulgent getaway in Provence.
