Located along the southernmost tip of western Australia’s coast, this beautiful Balinese inspired villa is set within over five acres of lush sloping countryside along the Margaret river with gorgeous views of the Indian Ocean. Commissioned by Princess Mirah Burman, the great-granddaughter of the last ruling King of Bali, the house was built in 1999 by Sydney based architect Terry Fripp following a visit by the princess with her husband. Designed with Balinese inspired aesthetics and imported materials to emulate her home in Puri Agung, the property is a lush compound of contrasting styles and luxurious comforts.

Entering through a traditional Balinese courtyard and rose garden, the towering facade leads to a luxurious living area featuring soaring twenty foot high vaulted ceilings overlooking the infinity pool and gardens. With hundreds of square meters of windows throughout the home, the interiors are flooded with natural light and magnificent views. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area that leads to the terrace were designed for entertaining with a BBQ and outdoor areas for al fresco dining.

Decorated with contemporary and Balinese furnishings and art with materials sourced from Italy, China and Bali, the home is luxuriously appointed and includes gorgeous mother of pearl inlaid teak doors. The upper level consists of three en-suite bedrooms with the master bedroom enjoying panoramic ocean views from every vantage point including the sunken spa bath. Adjoining the main home is a guest house which features the same style and appointments as the rest of the property.

Outside the living revolves around the pool and the magnificent gardens where you’ll have seclusion and privacy to enjoy the amazing river and ocean views.  This is a truly magical spot making this villa for rent a rare treat.

The coastal waters are home to migratory whales from June to November and stretch between two lighthouses north and south of the town along the Cape to Cape Track between the gorgeous limestone caves and sea cliffs of nearby Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.
